ABOUT

It all began when I inherited some family furniture a few years ago. I come from a family of women who would brake for any junk or antique shop along the highway so a lot of furniture was passed down over the years. About the same time, I came across Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and realized its potential for transforming dated or damaged finishes. I love the subtle, aged appearance that’s possible with her layering and waxing techniques. Vintage furniture comes with a story—real or otherwise, so I’ve learned to listen to a “new” piece when it comes into the studio. Unless it’s an “as is” with potential we only purchase well made furniture so enhancing or transforming it is a joyful thing. Cedarstudio is now a collection of vintage furnishings—some painted, some not—along with one of a kind designs. A few pieces are available out of my little studio here in Waco but most of my work is found at FARMHOUSE, just off the square in Waxahachie, south of Dallas.
